New FEEFHS president announced

Thom Edlund has stepped down after 14 years as the president of FEEFHS, the Foundation for East European Family History Studies. Under his leadership, FEEFHS was transformed from a federation of societies to an organization dedicated to indexing and other record discovery projects.

Milan Pohontsch has been announced as the new president of FEEFHS. Pohontsch, of German and West-Slavic ancestry, has been a member of the FEEFHS board since 2009, and has been a genealogical researcher since the mid-1990s. His expertise is primarily Germanic research, but also includes Czech, Slovak, and Wendish research.

As the new FEEFHS president, Pohontsch is committed to continue the path set before him by his predecessors. His first focus will be the development of a hybrid model for future FEEFHS conferences. He is also committed to keep FEEFHS website content up to date.

FEEFHS will continue to place a high emphasis on providing educational opportunities to researchers.
